Tomato and Herb Turkey Burgers

I was craving burgers so I made some! Low calorie and protein packed, make these guys your own by addding your own favourite spice combo or follow the recipe below for your own FODMAP friendly version!

What you’ll need:

  • 100g turkey mince
  • 1 medium egg
  • 1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1-2 tsp tomato purée
  • 2 tbsp fine cornmeal

What to do:

  • Add all of the ingredients to a bowl and mix until you have a fairly stiff mixture (stiff enough to hold a burger patty shape), if your mixture is too wet simply add some more cornmeal
  • Place the mixture onto an oiled baking tray (this mixture makes two burgers) and cover with foil
  • Place the tray in a pre-heated oven at 200c (fan assisted) for 30 minutes (adjust accordingly to your oven settings)
  • Once cooked through, remove from the oven and serve up! (I had mine on a super seeded gluten free sandwich thin from M&S and topped with some homemade asafoetida mayonnaise, yum yum yum!)
