Buckwheat Bread

My very first Bread Recipe: Proud Baker Moment!

What you’ll need:

  • 200g strong white Bread flour
  • 200g Buckwheat Flour
  • 7g fast-action dried yeast
  • 1.5 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 250ml warm water (I mixed 50ml cold water with 200ml boiled water)
  • Oil (for greasing)

What to do:

  • Sift the flours into a bowl, add the salt and yeast and mix
  • Add the honey to the warm water and add to the flour mix
  • Mix the ingredients until combined into a smooth dough
  • Lightly dust a work surface with flour and work/knead the dough for approx 10 minutes
  • Grease a bowl with oil, place the dough in the bowl, cover with some greased cling film and leave to rest in a warm place for 1-2 hours (until it has roughly doubled in size)
  • Again lightly dust a work surface with flour and knead for a further 5-10 minutes
  • Place the dough into a loaf tin (either a greased metal tin or a silicone tin), cover again with greased cling film and leave in a warm place for 1 hour
  • Preheat the oven to 200c (for a fan assisted, you may have to amend according to you ovens specifications)
  • Remove the cover from the Bread, lightly score the surface and place in the oven for 30 minutes (or until golden and sounds hollow on the bottom of the loaf when tapped)
  • Leave to cool
  • Enjoy!

I can 100% confirm it is awesome with peanut butter…
